Operating out of Lyon since 2015, Cosmic Wave Records has long drifted between floor-bound psychedelia and sonic introspection. Focused on music that stimulates movement and mental drift, the label now tilts inward with a detailed work from Anechoic, an EP that bends ambient and techno into a prism of shifting perception.

Across five tracks, Anechoic explores the fluid interplay between light and shadow. Here, sound mimics light: bending, scattering, refracting through space and time. Tones shimmer and blur; rhythms emerge only to fall apart and reassemble in new forms. Texture becomes narrative, dusty crackles, and stretched frequencies guide the ear across landscapes that feel both vast and close.

And at its heart, natural reverberation as the label and artist explain: “Natural reverberation plays a key role, much like how light lingers, fades, and reflects in its surroundings, shaping the atmosphere in unseen ways.”

Offcuts opens the record like a crack of light in a dark room. Metallic glitches hover in orbit, pulses flicker, and the whole track unfolds like a shadow shifting across a wall. Its structure is fragile, but its gravity is undeniable, setting the tone for a mind-twisting EP.
