After years of working behind the scenes, Dutch artist and Eerste Communie resident Hitam launches his own label: ‘Rhiza Semar’, uniting artists who explore enigmatic, pyroclastic techno and leftfield electronics. For the inaugural release, he delivers a four-track deep dive into the first chapter of his sonic world with ‘Precious Skin’.
Through rhythmical experimentation, Hitam invites deeper connections between body, soul, and sound, submerging us in his ritual of sonic exploration. This debut EP stems from live jamming sessions in and out of his studio, drawing us to the wellspring of inspiration that is nature.
The label is ‘an invitation for those who dare to dip their toes into murky waters and burn their feet on rhythmical experiments’ as he described it himself. Platforming emerging and established artists worldwide, Rhiza Semar is set to take us on the intuitive journey of rhythm and beyond.
Minimal Collective’s pick, ‘Chanu Akant’, fuses fundamental techniques with modern sound design, funnelling listeners through a sonic landscape of haunting atmospheres and animalistic drum patterns.
