JEANS’ stunning opener sets the tone for the latest Traiettorie Vol.2 release. A culmination of pulsating energy, the VA’s ten artists span across sonic realms of dark mystery and lightning intrigue to simultaneously reel you in and pull you off your feet.
Independent label and collective DE RIO concludes its first extended VA series with this release. Since its inception in 2019, the young label has been making significant strides, expanding from its base in Florence, Italy. It has showcased across major Italian cities and is now exploring international opportunities, spaces, and new realities to work with. Their focus on decontextualizing techno from classic club settings makes them notable across the music scene. Placing emphasis on the musical imaginaries possible within this world, both physically and conceptually, remains a core focus for the team.
Hinting at new sonic crossing and trajectories, the Traiettorie Vol.2 release stays true to the label’s values of rawness and diversity. Compiling a mix of groovy techno, grimey gabber, disjointed rhythms, and hints of trance, the VA ensures a deliverance of ominous textures from both resident and guest artists at breakneck speed.
Powerhouse behind the decks, DJ and producer JEANS opens DE RIO’s second VA with a bang. Representing from his homebase in The Hague, he iconically pushes beyond the musical outer planetary limits on our premiere pick ‘A Reference To The Form Of Features’. Oscillating between dark pumping electronics, intense drumlines, and a surprisingly delicate finishing melody, the opener track marks the ultimate apex of transcendental energy.
