KMRU is a Nairobi-born, Berlin-based sound artist whose work is grounded in field recording, noise, and sound art. His work contributes to the critique of conventional musical discourses by positing expanded listening cultures of sonic thoughts and sound practices. This album is a proposition to consider and reflect on auditory cultures beyond the norms. KMRU has earned international acclaim for his performances in far-flung locales as well as his profound releases.

Seil Records is a community of electronic musicians, who took on the seemingly impossible task of making the world a more optimistic place, by exploring emotions through sound and boldly sharing their findings. Our premiere pick, ‘in pieces’, is an exemplary soothing result of this practice.
