Sabla’s sound is a circular drift of patterns that subtly shifts, a structure deeply rooted in dub practices. A quietly persistent presence in the scene, the Gang of Ducks co-founder now extends his practice into the imprint platform Sistema Infinito with the arrival of its first EP, SI 00. Moving in a spiraling motion, he brings together familiar motifs and new sonic territory.
As co-founder of Italy’s Gang Of Ducks, Sabla has a history that extends beyond traditional artist-label frameworks. Gang Of Ducks is a collective that lets its releases speak for themselves, rather than through a fixed identity or narrative. From this same philosophy, Sabla has carved out his signature sound. The Italian artist navigates the liminal space between dub-informed minimalism and fractured downtempo techno, where rhythm never settles into fixed form but continuously drifts, folds, and reconfigures itself. His methodology naturally linked him to various collaborative projects with like-minded artists, most notably his extended collaboration with Donato Dozzy.
Seeking a fixed centre for new explorations, he launched Sistema Infinito, a platform for pursuing different directions in his personal path, starting with SI 00. The record’s A-side focuses on bass minimalism and more familiar forms of Sabla’s sound, while its B-side is divided into two tracks that together form an atmospheric sketch spanning 15 minutes. Here, Minimal Collective presents its first half: Punto Uno. It lies close to Sabla’s conceptual axis, with waves of soothing dub and a flow of subtle evolution.
