“A house built from sound”: that’s how Seoul-based artist SIJIN introduces DOMAIN, his forthcoming self-released EP. Spanning five tracks, including reinterpretations by Yuki Matsumura, Inn, and Matthew Cha, it approaches contemporary electronic music as a kind of dwelling: not fixed or possessive, but somewhere to pause, reflect, and gradually let go.
SIJIN is a DJ, producer, and curator based in Seoul, and the founder of SYNTHASIA, a platform dedicated to the cultural development of electronic music across Asia. Through projects like VOLNOST, GWI MYEON RECORDS, and MIND NOMAD, he operates at the intersection of experimental sound and expanded club contexts, curating events that blend audiovisual installation and live performances.
With DOMAIN, SIJIN turns inward. “For a long time, music has been where I go to breathe,” he writes. “To hold myself together. To stay grounded.” That grounding unfolds across the EP in spacious loops and subtle shifts, music that holds presence. He describes the record as “a house built from sound. A space with no owner. No rules, no control.” Rather than offering resolution or narrative, the tracks make space: “somewhere to stay, pass through, and experience.” That openness extends to the remixes, reinterpretations that don’t overwrite the original, but step into it, move around, and leave the door open behind them.
The Inn Remix, which we premiere here, leans into that philosophy with precision. It moves in steady cycles, swaying from left to right, propelled by the galloping speed of an irresistible loop. Pads in the background give the track an ethereal lift, shaping a rhythm that feels fluid. It’s a sound that spirals, revisiting its own structure with each pass, returning again and again to the core idea of DOMAIN as a place made to be reentered and momentarily inhabited, always in fleeting motion.
