Italian producer, sound designer and drummer Dvärv lands his next release on Dublin-based Bare-Knuckle Records as the label’s third EP. The Day I Choose Dignity marks the next chapter in the producer’s exploration of psychological transitions translated into fast-paced, hypnotic grooves.
Having founded Limen Records earlier this year, Dvärv uses his experience in drumming and field/foley recording as an important foundation for his productions. Incorporating sampled percussion and processed environmental sounds into his productions, he emphasizes his groove-led character. While these techniques shape the structures and rhythms of his music, the conceptual direction reflects a different set of interests. Through its titles, mood and overall character, The Day I Choose Dignity continues a recurring exploration of psychological processes present throughout his earlier work.
The EP brings together four original tracks alongside remixes from Tommy Lewis and Ādam. Minimal Collective’s premiere pick is Ritual Of Consciousness. Restless in spirit, this cut brings together the release’s percussion-led rhythms and hypnotic character in a peak-time dancefloor track.
