Katatonic Silentio is the moniker of Turin-based artist and researcher Mariachiara Troianiello. Known for her deeply sensorial approach to sound, her work unfolds at the edges of club culture and performance art, weaving sound and space into experiences that feel as physical as they are emotional.

Her long-standing involvement with La Nature, a forest festival in the Belgian Ardennes, has helped shape that direction. La Nature moves differently from other gatherings: away from spectacle, closer to presence. FLEUR SAUVAGE, the festival’s newly founded label, emerged as a way to hold onto what otherwise might be lost: the afterglow of a live moment, the trace of something shared. It’s less about curating a catalogue than tending to a continuum of intimacy and improvisation.

That intention resonates throughout FS001, the label’s debut release. Recorded live in La Nature’s Hypnose Room in 2023, the album captures Katatonic Silentio in her element:

“Deep low-end pulses and granular ruptures twist through fleeting moments of stillness, creating a sense of instability that is both electrifying and intimate. [...] As always with Katatonic Silentio, the sound is not just heard—it is inhabited,” the label explains.

Minimal Collective premieres the opening track A1 – I, an almost 12-minute dive into something far more than sound. As tension coils and dissipates, it's tempting to reach for language, but what unfolds here resists being pinned down. This is music made to be felt, not analysed, best experienced in a shared space, where presence deepens perception. Still, even in solitude, if you take a moment to listen actively, perhaps with someone close, you might just feel it: the warmth, the weight, the sense of being held by sound.
