Exploring the symbiosis between sounds, energy and emotion, Zara releases the last Pure Space outing of 2022 with her EP Reverie.
Crafted in the midst of sweltering summer times in Australia, Reverie radiates warm IDM and calm yet ominous energies. The EP starts on an ambient note and unfolds as a freaky journey. Sometimes cheeky drum and bass and soft kicks come into play, like on Azure and Pirr. Here and there tracks are guided by floaty female vocals, adding dreaminess to the hot summer days vibe.
The EP has a transcendental touch to it as well, which is the characteristic element of the Pure Space label. The name says it all. Trippy moments are to be found on both the EP opener Pirr and closer Elysium.
Our premiere pick Quixotic combines these elements of subtle drum and bass, female vocals and tripping wobbling rhythms perfectly and unfolds in a warm and spacey track.
